Web site changes

This web site is running on a development version of Aggmedia's Splinter microcontent platform, and may not be 100% stable. If you've been having problems with something, check the list to see if its been fixed. If the problem persists, please contact us. We are continually updating this site and the Splinter software.

This page only documents platform and site changes which users may have noticed.

Lots of changes over the past few months.

  • Fixed commenting, which we didn't realise had broken about a month ago.
  • Added some new public pages, such as Advertise with us.
  • Completely rewrote the security infrastructure.
  • Added reruns.
  • Added better item naming support.

  • Fixed a problem with recent windows media files not having the correct permissions. Sorry about that!

  • Added Google Adsense.
  • Added support for Digg for episodes.
  • Added new Fan stuff page.
  • Added support for embed code to display the current episode as a flash video.

  • Fixed a problem where our hosting provider would sometimes corrupt uploaded media files.

We changed the server timezone from U.S. central to Sydney time, fixed some problems with RSS feeds not working, and did a few UI tweeks:

  • RSS feeds had GUID as itemId turned on from dev. Now uses full url for the item as the GUID.
  • Episode content was forcing an enclosure regardless whether the feed type actually had one. Fixed.
  • Episode content was using enclosureType as the enclosure element name. Fixed.
  • Debug logging was turned on and slowing down the site. Fixed.
  • RSS feeds weren't including iTunes annotations.
  • Moved this article into a public information space.
